DEVELOP YOUR TENNIS GAME AND PREVENT INJURIES

Joe DJoe DiCarlo, EdM, PTR
“Put down your racquet and let’s do some tai chi… .”

Even after 50 years of teaching experience, Joe DiCarlo is still willing to learn something new and then share it with his students. You can too.

“…I started tai chi later in life, at a time when keeping mobile and active are very important to me. As I became more proficient with Tai Chi, I began to notice that the performance criteria were almost identical to those required in the sport of tennis: balance, focus, use of the body as a whole unit, fluidity, performing in the moment. With each new tai chi movement, I began to see a tennis application. From that point on, I began to incorporate tai chi into my tennis teaching.”

How Does Chi Time Tennis cross-training work?
Selected tai chi movement patterns correlate to tennis strokes. By practicing basic tai chi exercises and movement patterns, motor learning occurs and, at the same time, joint health is promoted to reduce risk of injury.

Biomechanical efficiency means more power and control and less joint stress.
